Edinburgh city centre now has free WiFi covers all the major tourist areas.No idea how it is accessed but will have a look next time I am in the area.

Great news!
When I visited my daughter (who was studying at the university there) this May, I decided to walk from the hotel to her flat one morning, only to realized that I couldn't text her, because I had no Wi-Fi! Fortunately, I found a small business & asked if they would share their Wi-Fi password with me.

yes folk in Scotland are pretty helpful.I actually work for Edinburgh university but on the research side and not the teaching side,great place to study and a lovely city to visit.

I agree with you completely, everyone I met in Edinburgh was very helpful & friendly. My daughter throughly enjoyed living & studying in this beautiful city. She'd live there indefinitely if she could!
