Hello!
A friend of mine has reserved a boat to cruise the canals in Scotland and asked me to help with his itinerary since I love travel planning. They are picking up the boat at the Falkirk Wheel and have it for 2 weeks. Any advice on what to see along the Forth and Clyde or Union canals? Has anyone done this before and would have a good idea of how long it takes to get places? I really want to help him, but I'm not finding a lot of information out there! Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.
There's a lot of information on this website-
https://www.scottishcanals.co.uk/canals/forth-clyde-canal/
(Scottish Canals are responsible for maintaining and operating all canals in Scotland- the equivalent of The Canal and River Trust in England and Wales)
Under the 'Plan your trip' tab there is a 'Skippers Guide' with detailed maps and full navigational information.
By a quirk of politics, Scottish Canals is the trading name of the British Waterways Board and the only bit left after the canals were vested out in England and Wales.
