We are U.S. citizens flying Delta from the U.S. to Edinburgh with a 1hr-50min layover and flight change in Amsterdam Schiphol. Would appreciate any insight into what the process is at Amsterdam. Will are baggage be checked thru to Edinburgh, and us going thru Passport Control before going to our connecting gate, or gathering our luggage, going thru customs and rechecking before proceeding to connecting gate? Thanks in advance for any help!
You baggage will be checked through to Edinburgh. You should not have to go through passport control since your destination is outside of Schengen. Your departure gate should be nearby in the non-Schengen sector of the airport.
If it's on one ticket, your checked luggage will be checked through to Edinburgh.
When you arrive at AMS, all you have to do is go to your connecting gate. No immigration or customs.
You will go through immigration and customs in Edinburgh,
