Hi, My husband and I are flying from Edinburgh, Scotland to Dublin. Which is the better airline to use: Aer Lingus or Ryan Air? I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions, Thankyou!
Check out the restrictions on both airlines and see which one you prefer. Then add all the extras to see the final price. (Especially baggage.)
It's a short flight. FYI..The Aer Lingus flights are not jets. They're turboprops.
I've flown between Glasgow and Dublin on both Aer Lingus and Ryan Air. The criteria I used for selecting one or the other were schedule and price. The Aer Lingus seats are more comfortable - there's actually padding between the molded plastic and you, and the flight is slightly less annoying because the flight attendants aren't spending their time trying to sell you stuff. But the latter can be remedied with ear plugs.
I've done this flight a couple times on Aer LIngus and will do so again without hesitation.
Easy, cheap, comfortable enough, no unwelcome hassles, no unpleasant surprises. Can't ask for much more than that these days for an intra-European flight. It's a short hop, if you hate it, it won't last very long. Low risk.
