First time Scotland visitors

Help! We're flying into Glasgow from Wash, DC early June and staying 2 wks.
Our group of 6 (3 adults and 3 teens)..would love suggestions about getting the most out of our trip.
*where to stay first few nights in Glasgow?
*good itinerary for hitting tourist stops?
*rent house whole time or hotel hop?
*stay in Glasgow night before flight home?
Any suggestions are appreciated...Thanks SO much!!

Do you have Rick Steves' excellent Scotland Guide? A complete book about Scotland came out last year and it was invaluable in planning our time there. Answers your questions and more!

FWIW, 2 nights in Glasgow is sufficient. You could move on to say Oban the day of arrival and stay in Glasgow for two nights before you fly out.

I would say stay for a couple of nights in Glasgow, and in the capital.

But it really depends on what do you want to see. Ask yourself a few questions.

Given the party, self catering makes sense if you can do it. Are you comfortable with the idea of driving on the left? Do you want heritage or countryside or both?

PS for self catering in June, you need to be booking now. The season is relatively short in Scotland compared to England or France.

Thanks for the suggestion. Is there a company that's good to book through such as Airbnb?

I went to Glasgow (and Manchester and Liverpool) in September 2016. I didn't see other parts of Scotland, but my trip report will have some ideas for you for the Glasgow part of your trip (there's plenty to see and do there): https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/trip-reports/uk-trip-report-glasgow-manchester-liverpool-in-september-2016

As I said in my report, I only did one thing not in the Rick Steves Glasgow chapter (although it was a wow, and I highly recommend it - the House for An Art Lover). So, do look at the book and see what interests you.

Personally I use either VRBO.com or Booking.com wherever we go.

I used HomeAway/VRBO when we were in Glasgow in the fall. They were responsive when the host canceled my reservation a week before we left home.

My trip report for Glasgow is here: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/trip-reports/trip-report-brussels-bruges-september-2016-b27017fa-0245-4326-a182-d0dc13fa6480

I've also been to Edinburgh for a few days, and had a brief stop in Oban a few years ago.

Read over the Scotland book & come back with questions!!
