Few hours in Glasgow

Hello! In September, I will be flying in to Glasgow arriving mid afternoon and staying that night. The next morning I will be heading to the Highlands. Any advise on must-see's and do's in such a short amount of time?

(P.S. I will be staying near the city center)

Thank you,
Natalie

Visit the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Look it up on Wikipedia. It looks like a lot of interesting and entertaining things to do. Get a quick fix on the history and the modern day culture of Scotland. And it is free!

Hi, Natalie,

Glasgow Cathedral, the Necropolis, and People's Palace. All free, and close to the center of the city. If you want to go shopping, anywhere along Buchanan Street, Sauchiehall Street, or Argyle Street.

Enjoy!

We had even less time last year between train changes. We took the Hop on Hop off Bus for an overview of the area and then enjoyed a nice break at the Willow Tea Rooms.

Sounds good to me! Thank you for the advice!

If you are near the Cathedral, at the very least try and get a photo of you with one of the few Police Boxes still in situ on the streets. Just down the hill near St Mungo's museum.

THere is also one on Buchanan St.

We really enjoyed just walking all of Buchanan Street. So much to see, people watching, interesting shops to window shop - we didn't "shop" but enjoyed the displays. Buskers on the street - We had about the same amount of time as you. We arrived in Glasgow in the morning, got to the hotel, had some lunch, then walked Buchanan...we left the next morning via bus for Ft William to hike The Great Glen Way...
