The MV Caledonian Isles has now had repairs completed, and successfully completed sea trials at Leith, Edinburgh
She now has to return to the Firth of Clyde when weather conditions around the North of Scotland allow, then conduct new berthing trials and crew familiarisation at Brodick and Ardrossan.
It is hoped that she will be able to re-enter passenger service within the next few weeks. When that happens she will sail from Ardrossan while the Glen Sannox continues to sail from Troon.
The remainder of the summer timetable and the majority of the winter timetable will therefore be amended when a date is confirmed, thus ending this very long saga.
It is not yet clear what will happen with the chartered MV Alfred.
