Ferry Sailings to the Isle of Arran-MV Caledonian Isles

The MV Caledonian Isles has now had repairs completed, and successfully completed sea trials at Leith, Edinburgh

She now has to return to the Firth of Clyde when weather conditions around the North of Scotland allow, then conduct new berthing trials and crew familiarisation at Brodick and Ardrossan.

It is hoped that she will be able to re-enter passenger service within the next few weeks. When that happens she will sail from Ardrossan while the Glen Sannox and the chartered MV Alfred continue to sail from Troon.

EDIT 1 OCTOBER- At 5 hours notice it has been announced that she will resume service with a 1700 sailing from Ardrossan tonight (1 October), so for a short time the island will be served by 3 vessels- two from Troon and one from Ardrossan, as well as the Lochranza sailings.

In mid October the Alfred departs for the Uig Triangle from Skye to the Outer Hebrides, while that vessel is away at refit.

Over the weekend an incoming storm is expected to lead to cancellations, but at last (after 20 months of problems) really positive news
