Ferries to Orkney.

We have planned 2 nights in Orkney (Kirkwall) in July. I am thinking about taking the Pentland ferry from Gills Bay to St. Margarets Hope on a Sunday, then the Northlink ferry from Stromness back to Scrabster on Tuesday. We will have a small car.

Is this an okay plan or would it be better to do round trip on one or the other....

Given the size of Orkney and Caithness, using the same ferry, i.e. whichever is the cheapest makes better sense. The longest journey on Mainland and the Barriers is less than an hour.
