Family Hotel in Edinburgh for 2 Adults 3 Kids

Hello, I tried searching but the last family post was a while ago. Looking for a hotel in Edinburgh that has room for 5 or two connected rooms.
We are also planning the highlands and Glasgow and Inverness and Skye so any family hotels would be helpful. This our first visit. Kids are 11, 13 and 17. TIA

This is not a common room size/configuration, so you might not get a lot of responses. You might want to consider AirBnB or the like. Another option is a family room in a hostel, as they sometimes accommodate bigger groups. If you really prefer a hotel, use a site like booking.com to search for hotels that look like they will suit your family. I suggest searching for one room first to see what it comes up with, then try two rooms. Always check the hotel website to make sure they have the room(s) you need, and for independents, it's best to book direct. Then you can check back here by searching for the hotel name to see if folks on the Forum have more insights. Certainly the Forum can offer recommendations for which areas to stay in.

Here is a B&B option in Skye. They have 3 bedrooms for B&B, of which 2 are adjoining. You'd need all 3 of their rooms to sleep 5, but the two younger kids could be next to the parents. Or they have a self catering suite that sleeps 6. It's not far from Dunvegan and about a 40 drive to Portree. But closer to things like Fairy Pools, Talisker distillery, the Cuillin hills (mountains) and Neist Point lighthouse.

I'd recommend looking at https://www.hostellingscotland.org.uk/
The do have private family rooms that sleep 5-6 people, or worst case you do two smaller rooms. I'm traveling with a family of 5 as well, so I know how hard it can be to find a room big enough.
