We have booked the Best of Scotland tour for June 2026 and added an extra day at the end in Edinburgh. Looking for opinions on what to prioritize for that extra day from folks who know what's already covered on the tour. Thanks.
Walk the Water of Leith Walkway to see Six Times by Antony Gormley and, if you're so inclined, the Royal Yacht Britannia.
Day trip to see the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies.
Any of the Rabbie's day tours that covers an area you haven't seen.
Hi Ron, we enjoyed hiking up Calton Hill and having a picnic while taking in the views. We didn’t make it to Arthur’s Seat (next time hopefully!) We also spent a few hours one morning walking the Water of Leith pathway to Dean Village. We stopped at Lannan Bakery in Stockbridge on the way before heading to the walkway. Best Pain Au Chocolat croissant I have ever had in my life. If you like the coast, take up a quick half day jaunt to North Berwick. By train from Edinburgh it’s only about 20 minutes. Beautiful little place to explore.
Just a couple of ideas to get you thinking!
You can explore Dean Village and Scotckbridge. Visit National Museum of Scotland, National Library of Scotland, Scottish Parliament building, Palace of Holyroodhouse. Hike up Arthur’s Seat.
Hike up Arthur’s Seat then do Palace of Holyrood House in the morning. Then after lunch go do Britannia Yacht.
