Edinburgh Whisky Tours

My wife and I are traveling to Edinburgh for a week in early June. We want to take a whisky tour. We are not big whisky drinkers but like learning about the methods of how it is produced. Any tour suggestions?

I am Scottish and have visited many whisky distilleries over the years, Rabbies as mentioned do several tours but this one is a day tour that may suit you.

I did this tour a few years ago with my brother and a few friends as part of my brother's 60th birthday celebrations. Not only do you get to a couple of very different distillieries you also get to see some lovely parts of the country including lunch on Loch Lomond.
If you actually want to do the distillery tours you will have to pay extra for that but well worth it.
CaliMom metions Caddenheads, certainly well worth a visit and a place I go to often to buy whisky, was in there last month to buy some tasting sets to take to friends in the Czech republic as presents for their birthdays. It may have changed since CaliMom was there as they now concentrate on their own bottlelings of whisky.I love it there. They also do tasting evenings and whenever I am in I always seem to manage a few samples.Across the road is a great homemade Scotting Fudge shop and there are the People's story museum and the Museum of Edinburgh all within 100 yards, both place worth visiting if only to see inside the wonderful buildings.Loads of places for food and drink and you are only a few 100 yards from Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliment, so lots of other things to do there other than visit a whisky shop.
