Edinburgh, weekend of 10 Dec

People having a weekend away before Christmas for some shopping or catching up with friends? There tend not to be conferences etc at that time of year nor are they at the weekend.

It seems to be just the weekend that’s an issue. According to Booking.com, Manchester, Birmingham, Bath etc all have 80%+ of rooms booked for 10 December.

Agree with Jennifer. I was looking to have a few days in Bath, with a friend, the second week in December. But, we left it late and we couldn't find a hotel we liked at a price we were happy to pay. So now planning for early next year. Think Edinburgh, York etc will be similar.

Frank: I've just looked on booking.com, and there are plenty of places available.
Some are not right in the centre, but Edinburgh has a really wonderful bus system, so you could easily stay out a bit, and bus in.
You can buy a 24 hour bus pass for about five pounds, so you can hop on and off all over the city all day long.
