We are flying standby to Edinburgh from 7/5-8; just a quick three night trip. Weather calls for rain periodically the first 2 days but wind gusts anywhere from 10 to 20 and 20 to 30 MPH. Is this city doable in that kind of weather?
I can see some light rain forecast for Sunday and the very early hours of Monday but nothing else. It looks to be quite breezy but if you can’t cope with a breezy day then you’re coming to the wrong country. In any case there is every chance that the forecast will change anyway.
Thank you!
I am currently not far from Edinburgh. Yesterday, it called for rain most of the day.
It rained in the morning, was partly cloudy the rest of the day, and then rained late in the evening.
Weather forecasts in Scotland are like a can without a label. You don't really know what you are going to get.
Pack accordingly, be prepared, and enjoy your trip. Bring some type of jacket. It does get windy.
try a forecast with more detail.

don't just look at the icons, look at the "risk of" figures and the amounts of expected precipitation.
and if a british city couldn't cope with winds that LOW it wouldn't exist!!
