Looking for a recommendation for a walking tour in Edinburgh in particular something that focuses on the New Town. Thanks for any suggestions.
If my memory is correct, the RS guide book had a self guided walking tour that included parts of New Town. There may also be a downloadable audio guide. Check it out and see if that will work. If so, it'll be a lot less expensive than a private guide or tour.
You can try Mercat Tours. We used them in June for a tour of the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. Not sure if they have tours of the New Town but they might. They offer many, many tours. We loved our guide. She was very interesting and knowledgeable and personable.

They do private tours, too, so perhaps they can customize a tour for you.
One of the two Local Eyes walking tours I took included the New Town as well as Dean Village: https://www.localeyestours.co.uk/undiscovered-edinburgh-on-foot-walking-tour/
I second wasleys' rec for Walk Highlands. They are self-guided tours that are very thorough and have lots of information. You can tailor them however you like.
FWIW, I loved walking through New Town. One night I walked from my hotel (Premier Inn York Pl) to Baba for dinner. When I left the restaurant (it was around 10:15 pm), it was such a lovely night that I walked back along George Street to my hotel. It was such a wonderful walk. There were people out eating dinner or just strolling along and it made for a very enjoyable walk back.
I loved St. Andrew's Square as well. There are some wonderful restaurants there (definitely make time for Dishoom) and the square is lined with ornate Georgian buildings and flanked with gorgeous gardens and trees. It's a wonderful place to just kick back and relax and enjoy the surroundings.
