Edinburgh Tattoo

Going to Edinburgh beginning of August and going to the Tattoo ,would going in full scottish attire (kilt etc) be over the top , it is our silver wedding while there .might be over thinking it

Go for it! I think people will notice, and will want to talk to you and pose for a photo :) I'm not sure if a full dress kilt like you'd wear to a wedding is what you'd wear to The Tattoo? I'm sure one the outfitters in town will be able to rent you something appropriate.

Whether wearing a kilt or not, bring an essential part of Scottish attire: a raincoat. When we attended in August several years ago, it rained in early evening and a little during the performance.

I’ve attended three times. The bulk of the attendees wear relaxed non dressy (come as you are) stadium attire. The performers outfits are colorful and beautiful often representing their heritage. If it makes you comfortable and happy as you celebrate then enjoy. You will not be over the top.
