Planning to attend the Edinburgh Tattoo this year! Coming from U.S. and battling the August festival crowds just to see this! Is there any recommendation on what day of the week to get tickets for? Or what day NOT to get tickets for? I know tickets sell out, so it's fabulous not matter what - just wondering if anyone has any tips or experience with this? Thanks!

I don't think it really makes any difference. Of course you don't have any way of knowing about the weather this far ahead, which is the only thing I can think of that would make a difference.
It's a really special experience.

We attended the Tattoo on a Wednesday about mid-way through the time that it was on, and my understanding from the locals was that each nightly presentation is the same and 99% of all shows are sold out. During our two weeks in Scotland, the Military Tattoo was the very best activity that we did! FYI, I strongly urge you to buy tickets as soon as they come up for sale as desired stands sell out quickly. We bought 6 months early and were in Section 3, Row 4 and it was so close we felt like we were part of the parades. Good luck!
