Edinburgh Military Tattoo tickets via their app

Hi. I am wondering if anyone has any info about the Tattoo ticketing app. We'll be on the 8 Day Scotland tour that starts Aug 2nd. I purchased tickets to the Tattoo for Aug 9th back in January, requested delivery via their app, got my receipt/confirmation that clearly states that that document is not a ticket, that the actual tickets wouldn't be available via the app til 2-3 weeks prior to the show, that they would email with app info later - all fine.

I still haven't received info about the app. I've emailed them a few times and keep getting a canned response that the snail mail tickets have been sent but the app hasn't been opened yet. I found and downloaded the app anyway and it says that the QR code won't appear on the app til 2 days prior to the show. But the app also confusingly says "there are no tickets associated with your email address". I am hoping that that just means the tickets haven't been issued yet, but does anyone know? I'm getting worried that I won't be able to access my tickets because of some disconnect to my email. I'm assuming I'll never hear a tailored answer from the Tattoo. I'm braving the craziness of the Fringe just to see the Tattoo so I really hope I get to see it! Thank you for any thoughts!

Your receipt should be enough for them to make good on the tickets. I recommend stopping by the ticket office upon arrival in Edinburg a day or two before the performance to have them handle this possible glitch. The staff there have been quite responsive. However, I am hopeful that the app issue will be resolved before then. I suspect that once the ticket office or web site releases your tickets your app will then recognize/associate them with your email address.

Thank you very much for your input, fellow Connectican! Coincidentally enough, this morning I received a personalized email back saying that the tickets would be issued on the app 2 days prior and that they have staff on site that evening to help confirm tickets if there are ticketing issues. So, between your answer and the Tattoo answer I feel a little less anxious about this. (Still would be good, though, if the Tattoo had some consistency of message and clarity of phrasing around these issues. I tried Googling on this whole topic and very little came up so it must somehow get dealt with in some way to people's satisfaction.) Thank you!

Just to let anyone else know how this works because the information on the app, before today, was uneccessarily vague and contradictory:

I received the email from the Tattoo this morning saying the app was active. And now I do see two tickets on the app (they are shown left and right of each other - swipe to see the next ticket). Per the app the QR code that will actually be scanned that evening will show up in the app 48 hours prior to the show.

Looking forward to a fantastic show! Bringing long underwear and many layers with me in August because it probably will be rather chilly!

I had the pleasure of enjoying the Military Tattoo in Edinburg twice - 2013 and 2019. Both occasions were very phenomenal. The Fringe Festival attendance has swelled tremendously since 2013 but we were able to make things work. Have a wonderful time.

Take layers - I was there last year and it was very pleasant but not chilly. And yes, entry is easy with your QR code. :) It was well-organized.

The Fringe doesn’t have to be crazy. I picked just a couple of things I wanted to see (for me, it was Elsa McTaggert) and didn’t otherwise spend much time on the busiest of the streets. Leaving the Tattoo was crowded but everyone was calm, slow, relaxed, no shoving, etc. I don’t like crowds and had been concerned about that aspect.

Good to know, thanks.

Weather there appears to have been mid 60s days, low 50s nights - and since it ends at 11ish... and my fave weather is hot and humid... I probably will be cold even if everyone else is fine!
