Hello, I will be traveling to Edinburgh in August and am interested in seeing the Military Tattoo. Have any of you had luck getting cheaper tickets at the door or with people selling on the streets before shows? Thank you in advance for any info.

Is there some reason you don't want to buy them online? That would be your best bet. Anyone selling tickets on the street may either sell you bogus/expired tickets or charge a price way in excess of what they paid for them. A lot of these shows are currently showing limited availability of tickets or sold out.

See if your hotel can get them for you. It will be difficult to obtain them at this late date.

A tip:
Take a cushion to sit on if you go! and a really warm jacket/sweater/scarf.
