I will be in Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival at the end of August. I've pretty much narrowed down my hotel choices to The Terrace Hotel or Castle View Guest House because of their central locations. Does anyone have an opinion or experience to share -- or another recommendation? I'm trying to stay below $800 for 4 nights.

castle View is in an ideal spot and close to all the major sights as well as train and bus station plus tram and numerous buses to all over the city,the terrace hotel much less so.
Unfortunately Edinburgh in August is expensive ,no getting away from it and hotel prices can double or even triple so get booked ASAP.
Place is busy in August crazy busy but you will not experience a better atmosphere anywhere,.
