Hi all,
I will be in Edinburgh during the Beltane Fire Festival. I found that out after I booked my trip and am feeling a bit of apprehension about the crowds. I love the idea behind the celebration, but not the crowds. Will Edinburgh be overrun with crowds like it is during the August festivals? Will touring around be much more difficult?

The August festivals run for weeks in different parts of the city. Beltane lasts for 3 hours on one night on Calton hill. Last figure I saw for Beltane was 8500 last year. By contrast, there were nearly 3 million for the fringe festival over 3 weeks.

Never heard of Beltane but I’ll be in Edinburgh then and I just signed up for the ticket release notification! Thanks for posting this!
