A quick look at the National Rail map shows train from Edinburgh (Haymarket or Waverly) to Glasgow Central, change to local Scotrail train to Paisley Gilmour St, then bus to airport. Google Glasgow Airport for other ways.

bus from St Andrews Square bus station to Glasgow Buchanan Street Bus station , changes stances ie the one next to where you come in and get bus to airport.
train from Waverley station inn Edinburgh to Queen street, the walk over George Square and pick up airport bus from there, maybe a bit quicker but more expensive.
Depending where you are staying in Edinburgh there may be other stops or train station you can use

don't know if this will work but it is the link to the journey planner ,total time would be 2h15 min. and cost £13.80 using the bus.
