Is anyone else experiencing issues trying to book tickets for Edinburgh Castle for April 2026? Have you found a work around?

It looks like they have not been released yet. Even though they have the prices listed for April 1-12, it could be that they just haven't opened up those slots yet. That's when they change over to to summer time hours, which could mean a delay in getting them online.
You can try emailing them at [email protected] but chances are that you just need to keep checking back for when they are released.

Tickets are currently available through end of March. Once April opens up, those dates will no longer be greyed out.

The work round is to book the Royal Edinburgh Tour with Lothian buses- https://edinburghtour.com/royal-edinburgh-ticket/
They have a special allocation of castle tickets, so can always get you in, even when the public allocation on the Castle website is sold out. But you shouldn't need that currently, you are just too far out.
What even Royal Edinburgh can't do is to give you a specific time slot, just entry that day.
