I was looking to secure tickets for Edinburgh Castle and the 4th and 5th of July are greyed out ("unavailable"). Are they really sold out for those 2 days?
Viator and GetYourGuide both have guided tours available that are slated for that day. Is that a viable workaround?
According to a website I just looked at there are concerts slated for Edinburgh Castle Esplanade in early July. Presumably they are the reason for ticket unavailability.
@sownack :
Although this seems reasonable, there are also concerts on the 6th and 7th in the same venue as the one on the 5th yet tickets are available on those days.
Weird.
I don't have any idea what the unavailability of tickets is all about. Maybe you should contact to castle direct and ask? They are going to be best placed to help you I would think.
I can only post what I found on the internet.
If you need to find an alternative, consider visiting Stirling Castle instead.
Keep checking back too. I was looking at ticket availability for Stirling Castle and it was showing no availability for May 15th and 16th. And then recently, 75 tickets for each time slot became available for May 16th. So, perhaps some tickets might become available closer to July. Or like you suggested, if those are the only dates you have available for Edinburgh Castle, your best bet might be to sign up for a tour. Good luck!!!
@Carol Now Retired ; @sownack :
We have Stirling Castle on our plan already, so we will be doing that castle on our way out of edinburgh to drive the North Coast.
I will absolutely contact the castle directly.
I just thought maybe I would get lucky and have someone here know what those two blackout dates were about.
I'll report back here once I find out from the castle.
Maybe a coronation, part II?
