I will be in Edinburgh on Easter April 16 2017. Are sites open? Are restaurants open? Any suggestions on what to do on that day? (leaving for London at around 4-5 pm). Thanks

yes all places will be open, some restaurants may be closed but that's because they close every Sunday.
Visit the castle and the Royal mile that should fill the day easy enough. Are you going to London Via train of Air?,if by air leave plenty of time to get to the airport, train station is only a few minutes walk from the Royal Mile.

We were in Edinburgh last Easter and almost everything is open. The Royal Mile was really fun that day as there were numerous street performers about. We had a lot of fun taking in the atmosphere of the Royal Mile as everyone was in a very festive mood. Edinburgh is a great city.
