I have searched this forum and everyone recommends the Doubletree by Hilton for the Edinburgh airport.
However, Booking.com is showing over $347.00 for a room for one night for three people.
Oh the date is July 31, 2018.
I don't want to pay this much, so we need another option.
We need an option that has transportation for under $200.00 a night, preferably with breakfast included and with generous cancellation.
We have an early flight out and in looking at other hotels, how do I tell which ones are on the tram or bus line?

try Premier Inn at Edinburgh Park, right on the tram line and it will take less than 15 minutes to get there by tram, mind you for 3 folk a taxi would be around the same price from there.How early is your flight? you could stay in a city centre hotel near or on the tram/bus line and get to the airport in around 30 minutes.
I have a 6.00am flight in just over a weeks time from Edinburgh and I can get to the airport in under an hour using public transport and I live at the opposite side of the city to the airport

diveloonie: We also had that problem. After much research I found out that the tram from the airport provides connections to Edinburgh Park railway station up to every 7 min. (journey time to station 13 min.). Edinburgh Park (The Gyle) Hotel is located next to the Edinburgh Park Railway Station.
Their overall rate is very reasonable although you have to pay extra for breakfast (I think it is 8.99GBP per person). When you book, you can choose either Flex or Saver. We had stayed in Premier Inn near Heathrow before and we were happy with its service, cleanliness and food. Their breakfast is buffet-style with hot food and a variety of baked goods, cheeses, fruit, juices, tea & coffee. They start serving breakfast at 6:30am.
We have booked this hotel for our early flight home in June. I recommend this hotel for its convenience and value.
