Edinburgh accomodation

Any recommendations on hotel/lodge/boutique accommodations for Edinburgh 2024?

We are looking for something that is on the smaller side and cosy versus large, corporate and sterile.

Price point around 3 to 4 stars with location that we can easily access sites and perhaps transit.
Ideal if they offer a breakfast for a charge and queen size beds for my husband who is 6 foot two lol.
Even better if it's easily accessible to the castle

In the past we have done Airbnb in the UK for accommodations but this is for an anniversary trip so we want easy and established

Thank you

Parliament House hotel on Calton Hill. It was very charming. Ask for a room with a view over the city, or the room above the old cemetery.
Safe travels!

A second recommendation for the Parliament House Hotel—I just checked out this morning, 5 lovely nights there. I will write a trip report once I return from London, but I must say I felt it was well-situated—10 minutes to Waverley, 15 to the tram stop at St Andrews Square, 15 to the bus depot (I took a Rabbie’s day trip from there), easy 15 minutes to the Royal Mile—Edinburgh is such a walkable city and everything is fascinating, not a dull stretch in any direction! I highly recommend Howies Restaurant just around the corner, reservations are needed and it’s an upscale yet comfy place. I didn’t have the breakfast at Parliament House, and I had a Double Standard room that was spacious with a queen bed.

My husband and I just spent two evenings at 2 Cambridge St. B&B and LOVED it. It's cozy and has loads of character! Erlend and Helene couldn't be more welcoming, they make the most unbelievable breakfasts and the location is right behind the castle - an easy walk to either Old Town or New Town. I rarely stay at the same place twice, just wanting new experiences...but my husband (who is 6'2 like your husband) and I both would stay with them again in a heartbeat! Staying there made us feel spoiled. Google it and see what you think.

Oh my goodness Helene and Erland! We stayed in their previous place years ago and it was amazing. I always wondered whether they had a new B&B elsewhere in Edinburgh and now I know! They are brilliant hosts, so I am sure their place would be fantastic and the reviews on Trip Advisor certainly suggest that it is.

Yes, Skyegirl, Erlend and Helene are the best!!! We just clicked with them and can't say enough about their gorgeous home and how welcomed we felt!
