We quite frequently hear on the forum about Calum's road on Raasay (off Skye).
Well there is another, not dis-similar story on the Isle of Lismore, in Oban Bay- Duncan's Road.
A brand new memorial has recently been installed, and this is the story- https://www.lismoregaelicheritagecentre.org/a-tribute-to-duncan-livingstone/?fbclid=IwY2xjawOYFjxleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFkcURjcFpYMTRCZW8xQ0FRc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHicAPDByy2M_MvJCrSrM6P2MQOfk7mQMw-umqKYh5c0eEJYYb9ZjdD0dXgv2_aem_mqzmoY7BrmQ3OqnfixTrGA
I've actually been down that road and knew nothing about it, until tonight. I arrived on the foot ferry from Port Appin, walked most of the length of the island (including visiting St Moluag's Church, a former Cathedral), and left on the little car ferry back to Oban. A lovely, peaceful day out, far from the madding crowds.
