We are planning a trip to Scotland for next September without a car. We will be coming from Cardiff (Wales) by train and are considering Dumfries and the Caevlaverock Castle. Any recommendations on accommodations and is public transportation from Dumfries to the castle feasible?

The 6A bus service from Dumfries will work.
Fairly frequent too.
