I will be in Dumfries, Scotland for the 1st of June for 3 nights before leaving for England. Can anyone recommend places to visit along the coast. I will need to rely on train and buses for seeing the area. Good place to eat in Dumfries. I am a solo senior traveler

I had a car when I spent a week in this area, based near Castle Douglas. I enjoyed the time spent climbing the Mull of Galloway lighthouse, walking around Portpatrick, Logan Botanic Garden, the Isle of Whithorn and the Galloway Forest.
I didn’t spend much time in Dumfries itself.
