We presume we will drop the car we have been driving in for 10 days fro York up through Lake Fistrict and Scotland, off at the airport, but is the airport on our way in when we arrive from Inverness and Perth.Hopefully it is so, we can catch a bus into the centre of town and have some accommodation booked there for easy sightseeing.
Any ideas of reasonably priced places to stay there, would be welcome as I'm sure there are heaps of places, some a lot better than others. I have used alot so far that people and Rick have recommended on our trip from New Zealnd, and feel happier to do that, rather than spend hours searching through websites, not knowing what places are really like. Thanks a lot.
yes it is easy to get to the airport from Perth without having to go into the city centre.Easy to get the Tram into the city centre , tram stop is right beside the Car Hire Hub takes about 30 minutes
I will let others recommend places to stay, I live in the city so don't actually use the hotels.
Just finished a stay at the Premier Inn-Royal Mile in Edinburgh and can recommend it. Very reasonably priced, just half a block from the Royal Mile, new facilities, restaurant and bar, lovely friendly staff, and within walking distance of the Waverly Station stop for the Airline express bus from the airport.
Unclegus, given how helpful you are on this forum, I just had the funny image of people lined up to rent your place in Edinburgh while you are off having fun in Prague! Lol!
Unclegus does not rent out his house. MC Glasgow does and keeps all the profile.... ah, not again. Next venture.....
My house is pretty small, mind you my ex has a lovely place, you have to be very rich to afford a big house in Edinburgh .It will be up for sale in the next year or so as I hope to retire and move down the coast.
As for the place to stay, you might want to think about where in city you want to be. Some people like to be up on The Royal Mile, I like to be in New Town. I've stayed several times at The Inverleith Hotel, which it near the Royal Botanic Gardens. It's easy enough to take a bus or walk up to Princes Street or The Royal Mile and the Castle. I like being a bit away tourist crush.
Hahahah! MC Glasgow, will keep that in mind next time I make it to Scotland.... Lol.
