Driver for, hire from Oban to edinburgh

My husband and I are going to the Isle of Mull to see the Duart Castle. we have looked at the train schedule and realize it would be much less expensive than a cab or driver, but we are still interested in the recommendation for a driver or cab as we will have traveled by train for a month and thought this train trip was a little overwhelming due to length.

We would appreciate any recommendations.

Thank you

I don't have an answer for you, but I think your post is a bit confusing. Maybe if you clarify what it is you want to do, you would get some information.

Will you be in Edinburgh, looking to make a round trip by car to Oban and then on the ferry to Mull, then back? That would probably get pretty pricey. Are you planning on staying overnight in or around Mull or Oban?

If you provide more details, others may chime in.

The train trip is little over four hours from Edinburgh. The car travel is around three hours. Of course, with the train you have discipline about stopping, and I have to say that I would have a very hard time driving straight through with no stops from Edinburgh to Oban. :) But that is me. We are assuming that you are traveling out of Edinburgh and not Glasgow. You save an hour on each type of travel leaving from Glasgow.

Have you asked at the TI? Here's a link to their website and you'll find an email address to reach them. You may hear about some options here, but I think I would go to the TI as well.
