Dinner Reservations on Skye?

I know we'll need to make dinner reservations during our stay, but I'm curious how far in advance we should make them. We'll be there in late May (21st-24th), staying in Portree, and we're happy with casual dining (we're not picky eaters, so anything from pub grub, to ethnic, to seafood is fine with us.)

Also, any restaurant recommendations are appreciated!

Even for the most unprepossessing places you will want reservations. We saw so many people standing in the street outside of restaurants hoping to get in!

Very good but unprepossessing is Sea Breezes, on the harbor. Scorrybreac is high-end but an experience not to be missed, IMO. For Scorrybreac, we booked 4 weeks in advance. For Sea Breezes we booked 2 nights in advance.

Thanks, Laurel! What was the dress code like at Scorrybreac? We'll be packing mostly casual and hiking clothes, and I wouldn't want to look too out of place :)

We always hike so very casual but I pack some dressy jeans and a blouse so I don’t look like I just came off a trail. It’s a casual town because most people travel that way now.

Yes you will want reservations. I would book a couple of weeks out for the places in Portree, but you might want to book the Scorybreac now as it is very, very popular. As for dress code - anything goes. You will be fine in casual gear.

Best wishes
