Dinner & Lodging for last night in Scotland

We have a super early flight out of EDI on a June Saturday. Will be coming back from the Highlands on Friday afternoon/evening. The plan is to drive ourselves to the airport @430am. The question- where to stay that last night? We’ll have been in Edinburgh (city center) earlier in the week. Should we go back to Edinburgh, stay in a different neighborhood, maybe the West End? Or should we go in the opposite direction and check out Linlithgow? Or another area that isn’t too far from the airport? Definitely don’t want to stay at an airport hotel.

Thanks for any ideas

What do you mnean by a 'super early flight' and what time is check in? You may not want to stay in an airpoirt hotel, but do you want to get up super super early to make a super early flight? After all, all you need the hotel for is a bed for the night...

I wouldn't want to have to turn in a car at 4:30 am. It might be difficult to find where to return it in the dark.

The flight is at 650am, so figured we’d get there two hours before. Booked the car with Celtic Legend and coordinated the drop off at that early hour. Celtic Legend has been fantastic to work with. Literally the best customer service I’ve had in a long time. I’m dropping the car off at Premi Air Car park which will shut us to the airport.

I know it’s early but we can sleep on the trip home.

If you are leaving that early I'd recommend an airport hotel. The Hampton by Hilton or Holiday Inn Express are both just outside the airport. You could turn in your rental car the night before, and then walk to your hotel.

Thanks everyone. I’ll reconsider the airport hotels.

Map out specific instructions for your car drop off before you drive there..
Edinburgh Airport is not the most user friendly.......

I would drop the car the night before, in daylight, so it's one less thing to do at O'Dark O'Clock.
Drop the car, get the tram back into town, stay somewhere in the West End, then a taxi to the terminal in the morning.
Much easier.
