Just an FYI, I had to change one of my ferry trips (from Stornoway to Ullapool) to the day before. I thought there would be a change fee, but there wasn't. I changed it on the website by logging in and going to that particular ticket, and then amending it pursuant to the instructions here.
Maybe I wasn't charged because it was all online?

I think they only charge if you cancel completely. or change your booking to another route (which would involve cancelling your first reservation). So now you have an extra 10 pounds to spend!

Being a complete numpty I have on occasion booked myself on Mallaig to Armadale instead of Armadale to Mallaig. The lovely people at Calmac have always changed the booking for me without charge. Even if you can't make it work on the website they are great on the phone too.
