Is it possible to go into both Stirling Castle and Doune, head over to The Trossach Park area and go to Glengoyne Distillery in a 10 hour private tour from Edinburgh? I know Deanstons Distillery is on the way, but Glengoyne is preferred. Thanks in advance for any input!
if it is a private your I don't see why not. I did both Deanston and Glengoyne distilleries on a Rabbies tour during the summer.
Also , make sure you have your coconut shells .
Thank you both! We are Monty Python fans traveling with Outlander fans, so I really want to do more than a photo stop at Doune. It would be easiest to go to Deanstons but Glengoyne looks more...charming?
Any more input is greatly appreciated!
Glengoyne is much more charming and if you use the public toilets there you will see original Thomas Crapper flushing WC's a very rare site indeed. one of the oldest distilleries around and still doing it in the slow traditional manner.
Deanston is an old mill and has only been a distillery since the 1960's
Python fans need not worry, you can buy your coconuts at the Doune Castle gift shop. The jury is still out on how they got there though.
They were discreetly smuggled inside , in the belly of the Trojan Rabbit , which was accompanied by the Norwegian Blue Parrot nailed to its head .
