Is it true and widespread that the Euro is not accepted in Scotland?
It is true. Just like the Euro isn't accepted in the US or Canada.
In Scotland, they use pounds....as in British pounds or Scottish pounds.
Nowhere in Scotland will accept Euros, even Edinburgh. The currency throughout the whole of the United Kingdom is pound sterling. You can get Scottish bank notes and English bank notes but they all have exactly the same value.
@bcmyers, in case your question is related to Brexit: Even when the United Kingdom was a member of the European Union, it never adopted the euro as its currency. The pound sterling (GBP) always was, and still is, the currency of the UK, which includes Scotland.
