one of the best things you can eat when in Scotland. I make a pretty mean version.Baxters sells cans of it all over the world and it is not bad at all.

Can't say if it was the best cullen skink but the soup served bt the Oak Tree Inn on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond revived us. We descended Conic Hill in heavy spring rain and wind. The Oak Tree Inn was a refuge and the soup the best medicine.

Edgar I was in the Oak Tree Inn during this past summer on a very warm day and just had the excellent steak pie and a pint of beer, lovely place.

I had what I considered excellent Cullen skink (but I'm no expert!) this summer in Glasgow at Kember and Jones in the West End. And the bread that accompanied it was absolutely wonderful.

I had my first Cullen Skink at the cafe at Skara Brae near Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands. It was served with another favorite, Bere Bannock. Loved both at first bite. Based on how I feel in Scotland and the food, I figured some of my 51% GB DNA had to come from there, and sure enough I recently learned that one ancestor came from Rousay. My mouth is watering!

I saw Cullen Skink listed on several menus and looked it up. It sounds divine and we'll definitely be trying it on our upcoming trip. We decided to give it a go with local ingredients this week for dinner. I know the fish will not be anything close to what we'll get in Scotland.

Just back home after a transatlantic flight and this sounds soooo good. Ah, well maybe in June when I am back in the UK.
