Crazy question: Edinburgh airport loos

Are they coin-operated, or free? I ask because I seem to remember a lot of coin-operated toilets from my last trip to Scotland, 15 years ago. I am worried that I will need a bathroom break at the airport after deplaning but before I have a chance to get cash from an ATM (and convert some notes to coins.)

Thanks for reading this kooky question!

Kathi, I just flew in and out of Edinburgh airport last month. There is no charge to use the loo. Relax and enjoy.

yes, they are free and plenty of them.I was through the airport a few weeks ago and there was work being done on the toilets at international arrivals and the gents were using an old ladies toilet but I think the work should be completed now.

Thank you. My cousin and I are both relieved to hear this.

Glad you're relieved. And you will be again after using the loos.

Given the stereotype of "thrifty" Scots, I'd say this is quite a relief. LOL

(I can't wait until the airlines start charging to use the loos on the plane...)

A kooky answer. Here is some loo strategy and more than you asked for answer. I flew from Atlanta to Edinburgh via Amsterdam. Did not go through passport control in Amsterdam. The flight to Edinburgh was about 1 hr. Flight attendant cart in the aisle for the entire flight. Arrived in Edinburgh and had to go through passport check BEFORE the loo. SOOO plan accordingly!!!!! Loo was free.

Pissarro what a brilliant name for a thread about toilets.
yes the toilets at Edinburgh are after passport control and last time I came through Edinburgh last month it took about 30 minutes.
