Confusion about transportation

I come from Edinburgh, and I know that our subreddit doesn't take kindly to tourists asking questions, so I apologies in advance, but I'm trying to research my upcoming trip to NI and I am extremely confused. I simply can't figure out what are the best options for transport via bus or train, so hoping you can help me out.

Me and 2 others (we are 25, 27 and 30, if it makes a difference) will be spending 5 days in NI, landing and leaving from Belfast Airport. We will also need to take trains to and from Giant's Causeway and Derry, as well as moving around both cities. What do you recommend in terms of buying bus and train tickets? Contactless, online in advance, a prepaid card.
Apologies again and I really appreciate your time!

Ha! I live in a somewhat touristed city and belong to our subreddit, and it can get annoying when multiple people ask the same questions over and over. But yours was certainly a legitimate question - plus I think you will find that the members here are a bit more patient than redditors.🙂

Maybe I'm the one who's confused, but I'm thinking you'd have better luck getting answers if you posted this in the Ireland forum. (Yes, I know NI and ROI are two different countries, but the forum covers both on the island of Ireland.)
