Celebrating Beltane

Hello. We will be in Scotland for 2+ weeks at end of April / beginning of May 2020. I would like a find a smaller village Beltane gathering, not the big one in Edinburgh. Also, I will be celebrating my 50th birthday later that week. So, I'd like to find an appropriate stone circle in which to contemplate my impending crone years. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We will be flying into Edinburgh, renting a car, and circling to the Highlands and Islay either clockwise or anticlockwise depending on suggestions. Thank you!

Hi Jacqui

Despite living in Scotland, and on an island with a rich Gaelic tradition, this is not a festival that I'm particularly aware of. A bit of internet searching threw up this article on some of the celebrations around Scotland Daily Record

The best I can find is a link to the celebrations to be held in a stone circle on Orkney. Having been there myself (at a different time of year) I can tell you that it is very special place. You could fly there from Edinburgh very easily. Orkney Beltane

Hope this helps.
