Has anyone been to the Castle of Mey or along the Dunnet Head coastline east of John O'Groats? I'm very intrigued and have been watching You Tube videos of it. Would love to know your thoughts!
I spent a week in this area and visited the Castle of May in late June 2016. The Castle is worth visiting - we spent c 2.5 hours there including the gardens.
Nearby Mary Ann’s Cottage was very different but more fascinating.
We had poor weather on the whole, but it is north Scotland! There is good walking in the area and w3 took a day trip to Orkney.
Thanks, that sounds wonderful. I did not know about Mary Ann's Cottage and it must be fascinating -- it kind of reminds me of the Auchindrain Township open-air museum in Argyll, south of Inveraray. Someday I hope to make it there to Caithness.
