We used Celtic Legend last year and the service was outstanding. You'll get a similar response from many on this Forum.

Another vote for Celtic Legend . I had a reservation with Avis for a month this coming Autumn , and switched it to Celtuc Legend as the general terms of service were more favorable , and the rate is $1000:00 less than Avis

Third vote for Celtic Legend. I reserved my car through Celtic Legend, and they were wonderful to deal with. The price was very reasonable and included a free Sat Nav device. Very prompt with responses and you communicated with a real person. The car I rented came from Arnold Clark, so I picked up my car from their office at 1330 South St., just outside Glasgow. The woman who helped me was incredibly friendly and helpful. She explained everything to me about the car, what my requirements were, how the CDW worked, and so on. I knew a lot of it, but I appreciated her telling me all of this. I returned it outside Edinburgh at the Sighthill location. It was very easy to get to. I was charged a small fee for dropping it off at a different location, but it wasn't much and was definitely worth the fee.

On our trip last September, I rented through Enterprise. After making the initial reservation months in advance, I kept checking back and re reserving (3 times) when the rate was lower. I ended up with a rate that was significantly less than the original reservations amount. I have used Avis on previous trips but it does tend to be more expensive.

Avoid Green Motion!

The internet has many, many horror stories about them and on the Trip Advisor site a thread has been running for several years full of sob stories concerning Green Motion. It is resurrected every so often by people who have been caught out by their sharp practices.
