Is there a favorite car rental company among the group? We will be driving in England, Scotland and Wales. We have previous driving experience in Ireland.

We had good experience with Enterprise in 2016 and with Avis in 2015. Enterprise was reasonable in price and we got a small SUV, ideal for the roads in the Scottish highlands. We booked it directly on the Enterprise website.
We booked our Avis rental through AAA, and I am not sure I'd do that again simply because when we had to make a last-minute change of dropoff location (there was a labor strike) we called the Avis international # and they said we had to call AAA since it was booked through AAA. At that point it was about 6 AM in the United States so I knew there was no point trying to call AAA!

We just booked one. I looked at all the sites for individual companies and their prices were all over the place. So I googled car rental UK . Try a broker like Kayak or priceline. We got an automatic for about $250 a week.
