Ah well it also works for those of us who live up here and want to travel south....
I don't consider it bleak here, but then I chose to live here!

Not bleak at all!
Best time to travel if you are visiting people and not really concerned about sightseeing.
I used to take the Edinburgh to London sleeper a lot when I was a student in Scotland in the 70’s.
It was about 25 pounds one way in those days!
