Buying Waterproof Pants in Edinburgh

We are already overseas and forgot to bring our waterproof pants. Our trip is coming up quickly and we haven’t had any luck finding then where we are in Nice, France. Does anyone know of a well-stocked store in Edinburgh that might have these?

Mountain Warehouse has branches in Princes Street and High Street. Cotswold Outdoors has a branch, St. Andrews Square iirc?
Edit: Rose Street.

If you have time before you leave Nice, consider ordering from Amazon.fr to be delivered where you are staying or a nearby Amazon delivery spot. That worked well for us in Provence two summers ago. The local delivery spot was a small shop in the town near where we stayed for a month.

Mountain Warehouse is a good option for moderately-priced outdoor gear. Here is their UK website if you want to check rain pants and prices:

https://www.mountainwarehouse.com/

This should work better than ordering from Amazon.fr as you have a chance to try them on before buying.

Trespass is another good source for rain gear in case their store is more convenient. Cotswold Outdoor is also a good source but likely costlier than Trespass and Mountain Warehouse. Rohan ratchets the prices up yet another notch.

There is also a branch of (excellent in my opinion) Scottish chain TISO in Rose Street. Website here There's a bigger branch on the outskirts of Edinburgh and other branches across Scotland. In England they trade as George Fisher and have a few branches including in Keswick in the Lake District.

TISO is a good shout. I like their branch in Glasgow. I'm surprised Black's doesn't have a branch in Edinburgh. That's a good one in Glasgow.

but, silly question - are you actually heading into the back country and will need them? Probably won't need them in the city. Unless you are our prime minister making an announcement .... rofl emoji

Thanks, everyone! Yes, we are doing several days with hikes in both Scotland and Ireland this summer, so we will need them. I tried 2 Decathlons in Nice and their stock did not match their website. And the sizes were not accurate (medium too tight; large was jumbo!). Definitely need to try them on, especially for length. I'm sure I'll find some based on your suggestions. Happy travels to all!
