Am trying to find transportation alternative from Glasgow airport to a Kilmarnock hotel other than train. Reasonable rates, 2 people 2large suitcases. Am trying to avoid going into Glasgow first to catch a train from there. Private hire? Coach? Shuttle? Any suggestions?
I don't mean to be disagreeable , but because you can contrive an unreasonable result with unrealisitic caveats , does not make it possible , But , if you can find a flight that ultimately lands you at Prestwick , rather than Paisley , you will still need to find your way to Kilmarnock , so you will essentially be back to square one . I wish you the best and will happily stand corrected if I am wrong .
Why do you want to avoid the train? It is very easy to take the bus from Glasgow airport--get a ticket inside outside baggage claim and they will direct you to the stop. 20-30 minutes later you are at Queens Street station. Buy a ticket for Kilmarnock and take the hour long train ride. It's easy peasy.
What is your worry?

Here's the link to Scotrail so you can look up the schedules. You don't need to buy a ticket in advance. Just get it at the ticket office. I've never waited in line longer than 10 minutes or so max. And there are so many trains you don't have to worry about missing one. Just catch the next one. Have a cuppa while you wait. :)

I read it as the OP was looking to avoid having to change in Glasgow rather than the train per se. The bus also seems to require going to Buchanan Street to change. A pre-booked car would be around £45.
It's such an easy change! The hardest part was the steps at Queen Street Station, but I think that there is a ramp now, so even those six or so steps are gone. :)

Bus to Paisley Gilmour to Glasgow Central , change at Glasgow Central for train calling at Kilmarnock - One hour and fifty miutes .
