Bus/Rail from Edinburgh Airport

I'm trying to research transportation from Edinburgh Airport to our hotel, Best Western Kings Manor Hotel (100 Milton Road East, Edinburgh EH15 2NP, Scotland) and I am a little lost. I realize from the airport, I need to make it to the city center (Waverly Station?) and then somehow connect to a tram and ending up at Brunstane Station? I don't know what site to look at for times, cost, etc. Do I look at Scot Rail? If I wanted to use the bus, do I look up Lothian Bus routes? This is my first time in Edinburgh so I am unfamiliar with the transit. Would it be advisable just to take a taxi rather than to transfer at Waverly?

Thank you for your help.

We took the tram to Waverly and then took a taxi. Waverly is the hub of the transit system so ask BW Kings for the bus number need to get to Brunstane Station. Second, there is a huge transit center next to Waverly on the bridge with helpful people that will direct you to the proper bus, sell a ticket, etc. Also, in the airport is a TI that was equally helpful to us last summer. They can give you the same information. Also go on google maps and see where the hotel is in relation to the rest of the world. This is fairly easy.

If your hotel is on the tramway (as your question implies by asking how to connect to a tram), you can take it straight from the airport. Just write your hotel and ask them how to get there via tram or bus!

There are several tram lines in Edinburgh so the hotel might not be on the line from the airport.

I live quite close to the kings manor and it is at the opposite end of the city from the airport. The re is a train from Waverley to Brunstane but it still is a bit of a walk to the Kings manor. best thing to do is take the tram to Princes street and get the no 44 bus to the kings manor, stop is almost outside but that will take at least 30 minutes from Princes street and cost £1.50 per person.Buses run about every 15 -20 minutes
personally I would take the airport bus to Waverley and get a taxi from there, the taxi will be about £12-15 from there .

BTW Frank there is only one tram line in Edinburgh, cost us £720 million and goes from the airport to York place ,half the distance it was supposed to at almost double the cost, that's it, we Edinburghers are not impressed.

Hah! Unclegus you beat me to it! Yes, only one tram line! :) And I agree with the bus to Waverley followed by a taxi to your hotel. It will be very easy. And less expensive than a taxi the whole way, and faster than the tram and a bus.

Have a great time in Edinburgh.

They have recently changesd the entrance/exit to the airport in Edinburgh since I was last through there in January so I don't know where the buses actually leave from but will be through the airport in a couple of weeks time (another trip to Prague) so will have a better idea of the new layout then.

Krystle,

I'm sure you've already looked at this.....

I agree with the suggestion mentioned by UncleGus. Take the Airlink Bus to Waverly Station area and then a Cab to your hotel. That's the method I used on my last trip to Edinburgh, and it worked well.
