I'll be spending 3 nights in Skye in May. I'll have a car. It looks like there is a bridge as well as the ferry to get there. Can someone recommend which is best. Thanks sue
It will help to know the rest of your itinerary. We did the bridge to and the ferry from.
Hi, Sue,
All would depend on where you are coming from on your way to Skye, and where you are going afterward. Have a look at a good map of the area to help you decide. As an alternative, there is also the small ferry which runs from Glenelg to Kylerhea. Whichever route you take, the scenery is spectacular!
Safe travels!

It depends on where you are coming from and then where are you headed to when you leave the island as well as where you are staying on Skye.
Also, be aware that the ferry between Armadale and Maillig requires advance booking for both car and passenger.
It entirely depends on your route, so a matter of choice.
Depending on your route taking both, one out and one back may be an idea. As pointed out the ferry requires booking.

We were coming from Oban and making stops along the way. We used the bridge going both directions because we didn’t want to have to be at the ferry at a specific time. After leaving Skye we went to Inverness. We were on Skye for 3 nights and I wish we had spent more time there.
