We are thinking of attending the Braemar Gathering in 2017. We won't have a car and will be starting our trip in Edinburgh a couple of das before the Gathering. Does anyone have any recommendations for a tour company? We really do not want to stay in Braemar or a place that is not accessible by public transportation. Any suggestions?

Several years ago I took a day tour from Edinburgh up to the Braemar games with Gray Line Tours. They picked up right downtown on Princess street. I believe they ended up with two bus loads. It was fine, the driver was good, pointed out some sights on the way. Check out the web site for the games, they may have other options. Your ticket can be just general access, or you can purchase a separate ticket to be able to sit the stands. Otherwise you will be on your feet most of the day or sitting in the grass if it's not raining.
