What is the best way to travel from Oban to Waverly Station in Edinburgh? We are leaving our friends and their rental car in Oban so must travel by train or bus.

Train from Oban to Glasgow Queen Street and then to Queen St to Edinburgh Waverley. Hopefully the strike will be over by the time you go. Cost is £25 pp and journey takes ca 4 hours. For further info go to the Scotrail website for schedule etc.

Thank you for advice! We will travel to Scotland in late May and early June. Hope strikes are over and trains running often and on time!

Agree with lanlubber. Going through Glasgow is rather like going through Atlanta by air in US -- almost obligatory for certain destinations.
